Engineering True Independence: Building a Massive Ground-Mount Microgrid for the IKC President

At Fibonacci Energy, we pride ourselves on making residential solar simple, affordable, and risk-free for everyday Illinois homeowners. Most of the time, that means mapping a sleek, low-profile panel array to a suburban shingle roof.
However, when a property requires serious, off-grid-level power and custom engineering, our crew isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, bring in the heavy machinery, and get muddy.
Recently, we had the honor of designing and constructing a massive, custom ground-mount solar and battery microgrid for the President of the International Kennel Club (IKC)! 🚜⚡
A Partnership Born in the Community

This incredible project actually started with a handshake at a local community event. A few weeks prior, the Fibonacci team was out at Cantigny Park in Wheaton supporting the International Kennel Club Dog Show, demonstrating our live battery setups and talking to homeowners about our 5-year Solar Subscription.

After seeing our equipment firsthand and experiencing the pride and transparency our team brings to the table, the President of the IKC knew that Fibonacci Energy was the only team trusted to engineer the power solution for their own property.
The "Dirty Job" Philosophy: No Shortcuts

When you want bulletproof reliability, you have to start from the ground up. This wasn't a standard slap-and-go installation; this was building a personal power plant.
Our installation crew spent days on-site with skid steers and trenchers, executing the heavy lifting required for a permanent, commercial-grade foundation:
Deep Trenching: We dug extensive underground trenches to conceal all electrical conduit, ensuring the property's landscaping remains clean and hazard-free.
Custom Concrete & Steel Superstructure: We poured custom concrete pads and erected two sprawling, heavy-duty galvanized steel racking structures engineered to withstand the harshest Illinois winter winds and snow loads.
Dual Ground Arrays: Across the two massive structures, our team mounted dozens of high-yield, all-black solar panels positioned at the exact optimal tilt for maximum year-round energy production.
